"When looking for housing in Quito, it is important to research the area thoroughly and visit the property in person before signing a lease. Make sure to ask about the security of the area and the availability of public transportation. It is also important to check the condition of the property and the quality of the appliances and furniture. Additionally, it is important to be aware of the cost of utilities and other services, such as internet and cable. Finally, it is important to be aware of the local laws and regulations regarding rental agreements," said another expat in Quito, Ecuador.
