"Cost of living is high, yes that's true, but you can save a lot of money by shopping from roadside vendors and markets rather than the large supermarkets, the shelves of which are stocked with imported goods and so therefore expect to pay high prices... if you insist on having access to British or UK goods, then you can get these also, but at a price... several upscale supermarkets stock Tesco and Waitrose products.
