"Living in Playa del Carmen is quite affordable. Rent prices for apartments in the area vary depending on the location and size. A nice 1 bedroom apartment can cost anywhere from $350-$650 US dollars per month and a nice 2 bedroom apartment averages about $800 US dollars per month. Eating out at a moderately priced restaurant in Playa del Carmen would typically cost about $10-15 US dollars per person for dinner," remarked another expat in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

"It is still quite reasonable to live in Playa del Carmen, but prices have increased for restaurants significantly over the past few years. We used to eat on 5th Ave all the time. But now we tend to eat off the main tourist drag because the price and overall value of the food is better found outside," said a member in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
