What are the visa & residency requirements in Los Angeles?

Answer this Question

We asked people about the visa & residency requirements in Los Angeles, they wrote...

"In order to obtain a visa to enter Los Angeles, an individual must first apply for a nonimmigrant visa through the U.S. Department of State. This process requires the applicant to fill out an online application, pay a fee, and attend an interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. After the visa is approved, the individual can enter the United States. In order to apply for residency in Los Angeles, an individual must first obtain a green card. This can be done through a family member, employer, or through the Diversity Visa Lottery. Once the green card is obtained, the individual must then file an application for permanent residence with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This process requires the applicant to provide evidence of their identity, financial resources, and other documents. After the application is approved, the individual can then apply for a Social Security number and a driver's license," explained one expat living in Los Angeles, the United States.
