What are the visa & residency requirements in Batam?

Answer this Question

We asked people about the visa & residency requirements in Batam, they wrote...

"In order to visit Batam, visitors must obtain a visa prior to their arrival. The most common type of visa is a tourist visa, which is valid for up to 30 days. To apply for a tourist visa, applicants must submit a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a passport-sized photograph, and proof of sufficient funds. In order to apply for residency in Batam, Indonesia, applicants must first obtain a temporary stay permit (KITAS). To apply for a KITAS, applicants must submit a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a passport-sized photograph, proof of sufficient funds, and a letter of recommendation from an Indonesian sponsor. Once the KITAS is approved, applicants must then apply for a permanent stay permit (KITAP). To apply for a KITAP, applicants must submit a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a passport-sized photograph, proof of sufficient funds, and a letter of recommendation from an Indonesian sponsor," said another expat in Batam, Indonesia.
