What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Myanmar?

Answer this Question

We asked people in Myanmar if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"It is important to be respectful of local customs and traditions when visiting Myanmar. Avoid making negative comments about the country or its people, as this can be seen as offensive. Refrain from taking photographs of people without their permission, as this is considered rude. Additionally, it is important to dress modestly and to avoid public displays of affection. It is also important to be aware of religious sites and to show respect when visiting them," remarked another expat who made the move to Myanmar.
