What cultural faux pas should I try to avoid making in Cameroon?

Answer this Question

We asked people in Cameroon if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"It is important to be aware of cultural differences when visiting Cameroon. It is important to be respectful of local customs and traditions, and to dress modestly. Avoid making negative comments about the country or its people, and be aware that public displays of affection are generally frowned upon. It is also important to be aware of the local language and to be respectful when speaking to people. Additionally, it is important to be aware of religious customs and to avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics or religion," remarked another expat who made the move to Cameroon.
