What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Dominica. They wrote...
"Expats in Dominica often find the local culture to be quite different from what they are used to. The language barrier can be a challenge, as English is not the primary language spoken in Dominica. Additionally, the slower pace of life and the lack of modern conveniences can be difficult to adjust to. Expats may also find it difficult to navigate the local customs and traditions, as well as the bureaucracy of the government. Finally, the cost of living in Dominica can be higher than what expats are used to, making it difficult to budget and plan for the future," wrote a member who made the move to Dominica.
