What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Ivory Coast. They wrote...
"Expats in Ivory Coast often find the local culture to be quite different from their own, which can be challenging to adjust to. Language barriers can be a challenge, as French is the official language of Ivory Coast, and many locals may not be fluent in English. Additionally, the local customs and etiquette can be difficult to learn, as they may be quite different from what expats are used to. Finally, the climate in Ivory Coast can be difficult to adjust to, as it is hot and humid year-round," remarked another expat who made the move to Ivory Coast.
"the slowliness and uneffectiveness. the fact that i never know if someone likes me because of my wallet or because of me as a person. the noise and that you can hardly walk on the streets without being bugged by someone," explained one expat living in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
