What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Micronesia. They wrote...
"One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture for expats in Micronesia is the language barrier. English is not widely spoken in Micronesia, and many locals speak their own native language. This can make it difficult for expats to communicate with locals and to understand the local culture. Additionally, Micronesia has a strong sense of community and family, which can be difficult for expats to adjust to. Expats may also find it difficult to adjust to the slower pace of life in Micronesia, as well as the lack of modern amenities and infrastructure," remarked another expat in Micronesia.
