We asked expats what residency documents or visas they need when settling in Ukraine. They wrote...

"American Visa at first then a residency permit for permanency. I obtained my residency permit via marriage," said another expat in Odessa, Ukraine.

"If you plan to stay in Ukraine for a while, you will need to obtain a temporary residence permit. This permit is issued by the Ukrainian Migration Service and is valid for up to one year. You will also need to obtain a visa from the Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate in your home country. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to apply for a long-term visa. Additionally, you may need to register with the local authorities in the area where you are staying," wrote a member who made the move to Ukraine.
