What is it like to retire in Colombia?
We asked retirees what it is like retiring in Colombia. They said...
"I've yet to see any sort of "expat community", but as my husband IS Colombian, as of now, this hasn't been a problem. As far as Cultural, Attractions, Recreation, Nightlife? Well, we have had the opportunity to travel ALL throughout Colombia, as the money conversion is amazing right now. We're even taking a 7 night cruise out of Cartagena in October... just awesome," remarked another expat in Cali, Colombia.
"Life in Colombia for retirees is generally very pleasant and active. There is a vibrant expat community in many of the larger cities, like Bogota, and plenty of cultural attractions, such as the Caribbean Coast and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Retirees have a number of leisure activities to choose from, such as golfing, biking, and seafood. There are plenty of clubs and restaurants where retirees can socialize and enjoy the nightlife. Colombia is also known for its diverse cultural offerings, from its historic colonial cities to modern coastal towns and its incredible biodiversity. With such a wide range of activities and destinations, it's easy to find something to do in Colombia as a retiree," said a member in Colombia.
