"The cost of living in Saint Lucia is generally considered to be moderate. Prices for basic necessities such as food, transportation, and housing are generally lower than in many other Caribbean countries. However, imported goods and services can be more expensive due to the island's remote location. The cost of living in Saint Lucia is also affected by the exchange rate of the local currency, the Eastern Caribbean Dollar, which is pegged to the US Dollar," explained one expat living in Saint Lucia.
