What are healthcare services like in Sweden?
We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Sweden. They wrote...
"In Sweden, healthcare services are provided by the government and are free for all citizens. Healthcare is based on the principle of equal access to care regardless of income, gender, or social status. The Swedish healthcare system is divided into primary care, specialist care, and hospital care. Primary care is provided by general practitioners and nurses, while specialist care is provided by specialists in various fields such as cardiology, neurology, and psychiatry. Hospital care is provided by both public and private hospitals. In addition, Sweden has a well-developed system of preventive care, including health promotion, disease prevention, and health education," said a member in Sweden.
