What are healthcare services like in Turkmenistan?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Turkmenistan. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Turkmenistan are provided by both public and private institutions. The public healthcare system is largely funded by the government and provides basic medical services to citizens free of charge. Private healthcare services are also available, but they are more expensive and may not be accessible to everyone. The quality of healthcare services in Turkmenistan is generally considered to be good, with a focus on preventive care and primary health care. The country has a number of hospitals and clinics, as well as specialized medical centers for the treatment of specific conditions. Additionally, there are a number of health promotion and disease prevention programs in place to help improve the health of the population," said another expat in Turkmenistan.
