What is life like as an expat in your area?
When we asked people living abroad what life is like in their areas and how people spend their time, they said...
"The Omani citizens appear to be very family oriented, with God (Allah) playing a major role in their lives. Although Islam is the main religion, there are other houses of worship in this country, including Protestant, Catholic, Hindi and others. We are asked to respect the Muslim holidays. However, we are not expected to fast during Ramadan, just to be respectful of their culture and eat in private, etc. The country has moved into the modern age, with cell phones, email and other modern technology and services," remarked another expat who made the move to Muscat, Oman.
"Life for expats and digital nomads in Oman is generally quite pleasant. The country is known for its warm hospitality and welcoming attitude towards foreigners, making it a great place to live and work. The cost of living is relatively low, and the country offers a variety of activities and attractions to explore. The climate is generally hot and dry, with temperatures ranging from mild to hot depending on the season. Oman is also a safe country, with a low crime rate and a strong security presence. Expats and digital nomads can find a variety of accommodation options, from luxury apartments to more affordable options. With its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and friendly people, Oman is an ideal destination for expats and digital nomads," explained one expat living in Oman.
