What is life like as an expat in your area?
When we asked people living abroad what life is like in their areas and how people spend their time, they said...
"Living in Norway as an expat or a digital nomad is an enjoyable experience for many. The country boasts stunning scenery, friendly locals and a modern infrastructure, making it a great place to settle down and work. Expats and digital nomads can find a wide variety of cultural activities, language classes and professional opportunities. The cost of living in Norway is high, however, with prices on basic goods and services higher than in many other countries. In addition, the temperatures can be quite mild and the summer months are generally fairly short, so foreign visitors should plan accordingly. Expats can also access a variety of quality healthcare, education, and banking services, as well as a wide range of leisure activities like hiking, skiing, and sightseeing. All in all, Norway is a great place for expats and digital nomads to live, work, and explore," said another expat in Norway.
"The people's priorities are money, status and beautiful houses. Daily lives revolve around sports, socializing and family activities. They spend their money on big boats, big houses and keeping up with each other and taking the boat or drive to neighboring countries to buy cheap meat and alcohol. Public drunkness and disordliness is socially acceptable. Where ever you travel in the nordic countries, if there is a drunk staggering the odds are he/she is Norwegian," wrote a member who made the move to Kristiansand, Norway.
