When we asked people about industries and career opportunities in Turkey, they reponded...

"Foreigners often have jobs in the tourism industry in Turkey, such as working as tour guides, hotel staff, or restaurant staff. They may also work in the manufacturing industry, as well as in the IT and finance sectors. Other jobs that foreigners may have in Turkey include teaching English, working in the media, or providing professional services such as accounting or legal advice," explained one expat living in Turkey.

"I am pretty sure any industry you care to mention exists in Istanbul, but even though I have a good resume with managerial experience in international companies and despite a lot of positive feedback and high hopes in other sectors, teaching english as a foreign language has been the only reliable way for me to make a living. After realising this is probably the case for many people I started to offer assistance based on my won experiences via my blog on www.englishjobsturkey.com I post any english teaching jobs in turkey that I am aware of an I even offer private students that I cant take myself," said another expat in Istanbul, Turkey.
