Where should I setup a bank account in Switzerland?
We asked expats in Switzerland what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...
"Before retiring in Switzerland, expats should be aware of the high cost of living in the country and the fact that an outsized portion of income may be dedicated to taxes. Expats should also be aware of the fact that to be a Swiss resident, one needs to have a valid residence, work document, or official permit and secure proper health insurance coverage. Furthermore, expats should research the various visa and permit options and requirements depending on their intended housing, work, or residency status. It is important to familiarize oneself with Swiss customs, cultural norms, and language in order to foster integration into Swiss culture. Lastly, visa and residency regulations are subject to change, so expats should be keeping up to date with the latest information," said a member in Switzerland.
