Where should I setup a bank account in Vietnam?
We asked expats in Vietnam what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...
"1. Before retiring in Vietnam, expats need to be aware that it is important to thoroughly research visa requirements and other legal requirements to move to and stay in the country. 2. Ensure adequate pension and health insurance coverage, as the local public system does not cover expats. 3. Vietnam’s climate is varied and the best time to visit depends on the region. Be mindful of temperature extremes and humid conditions. 4. Renting or buying a home in Vietnam can be expensive, requiring diligent research to find the most suitable housing option. 5. Know the local customs and culture as it is important to build relationships and understand the locals. 6. It is important to gain a basic understanding of the language; most locals in the cities speak some English, while in rural areas, there are fewer English speakers. 7. Understand that Vietnam is a cash-based society, so be sure to have some cash always available," remarked another expat in Vietnam.
