We asked expats in Japan what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"I found a bank in the U.S. with online services, which had special rates for using only electronic services. Within Japan, my company provided help getting the local bank set up. We also use Lloyd's of London's service to wire funds to the U.S," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Sendai, Japan.

"Expats should research the cost of living in Japan before retiring there, as it is generally more expensive than other countries. It is also important to understand the language and culture of Japan, as this will help to make the transition smoother. Additionally, expats should be aware of the visa requirements for retirement in Japan, as these can vary depending on the individual's circumstances. Finally, expats should research the healthcare system in Japan, as this will be important for their long-term health and wellbeing," commented one expat who made the move to Japan.
