We asked expats in Portugal what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Portugal, expats should be aware of the different residency options. Depending on nationality, length of stay, and whether the individual is self-sufficient, a different visa may be required. Expats should also familiarize themselves with the cost of living, which can be higher than other European countries. Additionally, expats should plan for healthcare expenses, as private health insurance is often recommended. Those planning to stay for more than 90 days will need to register with the local town hall, similar to registering with the police in other countries. Finally, expats should research their preferred destinations and get to know the local culture to ensure a successful transition," remarked another expat in Portugal.
