Where should I setup a bank account in Saudi Arabia?
We asked expats in Saudi Arabia what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...
"It is important to research the local laws and regulations as these can differ from those in other countries. Be aware that cultural norms, including dress codes and behavior, are strictly enforced. Make sure to obtain a valid visa and residency permits if planning to stay long-term. English is widely spoken and expats often have access to specific medical care and educational opportunities. Since the country is predominately Muslim, alcohol, pork products and public displays of affection are not generally allowed. Finally, accommodation ranges from luxurious villas to apartments and is typically available through negotiating a contract with a local real estate agent," remarked another expat in Saudi Arabia.
"No, I kept my financial institution I had in the states. I did not have a local bank in the states," said a member in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
