"Emergency services in New York are highly organized and efficient. In the event of an emergency, you can call 911 to request an ambulance. The operator will ask for your location and the nature of the emergency, and will dispatch an ambulance to your location as soon as possible. Emergency medical services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, the New York City Fire Department provides fire and rescue services, and the New York Police Department provides law enforcement services," commented one expat who made the move to New York.
