However, health insurance is not available in Scotland, so if you require private healthcare, you will need to pay for it yourself. The cost of private healthcare in Scotland can vary depending on the type of treatment you require, but it is generally more expensive than in other parts of the UK," commented one expat who made the move to Scotland.
