"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the healthcare system in Laos. Access to healthcare has become more difficult due to the closure of many health facilities and the limited availability of medical supplies. The government has implemented a number of measures to help mitigate the impact of the pandemic, including providing free testing and treatment for COVID-19, as well as providing financial assistance to those affected by the pandemic. Despite these efforts, the healthcare system in Laos is still struggling to cope with the increased demand for medical services. Many people are unable to access the care they need due to the lack of resources and the limited number of healthcare professionals. Additionally, the cost of healthcare has increased significantly, making it difficult for many people to afford the necessary treatments," commented one expat who made the move to Laos.
