Are foreigners allowed to own property in Trinidad & Tobago?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Trinidad & Tobago if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Trinidad & Tobago. The country has a liberal foreign investment policy, which allows non-nationals to purchase and own real estate in the country. Foreigners are also allowed to lease land and buildings for commercial and residential purposes. However, they must obtain permission from the Ministry of Finance and the Attorney General's Office before they can purchase property. Additionally, foreigners are subject to the same taxes and fees as nationals when purchasing property," said another expat in Trinidad & Tobago.
