Are foreigners allowed to own property in New Mexico?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in New Mexico if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in New Mexico. Non-U.S. citizens are able to purchase real estate in the state, just like any other U.S. citizen. However, they may need to obtain a valid visa in order to do so. Additionally, they may need to obtain a tax identification number from the Internal Revenue Service in order to purchase property," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to New Mexico.
