Are foreigners allowed to own property in Gambia?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Gambia if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Gambia. The Gambian government has established a legal framework that allows non-citizens to purchase and own real estate in the country. Foreigners are required to obtain a permit from the Ministry of Lands and Regional Government in order to purchase property in Gambia. The permit is valid for a period of five years and can be renewed. Additionally, foreigners are required to pay a transfer tax of 5% of the purchase price of the property," remarked another expat in Gambia.
