Are foreigners allowed to own property in Senegal?
When we asked expats in Senegal if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...
"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Senegal. The Senegalese government has established a legal framework that allows foreign nationals to purchase and own real estate in the country. Foreigners can purchase property in their own name, or through a company, and they are also allowed to lease property. However, there are certain restrictions in place, such as the requirement that the property must be used for a specific purpose, and that the foreign owner must obtain a permit from the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, foreign nationals are not allowed to own land in certain areas, such as near the coast or in certain protected areas," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Senegal.
