Are foreigners allowed to own property in Egypt?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Egypt if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Egypt. According to the Egyptian Investment Law, foreign investors are allowed to own property in Egypt, provided they obtain the necessary permits from the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation. Foreigners are also allowed to lease property in Egypt for up to 99 years. However, they are not allowed to own land in certain areas, such as military zones, archaeological sites, and areas designated for public use," remarked another expat in Egypt.
