Are foreigners allowed to own property in Lithuania?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Lithuania if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Lithuania. Non-residents of Lithuania are allowed to purchase real estate in the country, including land, buildings, and apartments. However, they must obtain a permit from the Ministry of Environment in order to do so. Additionally, foreign citizens must register with the State Tax Inspectorate and open a bank account in Lithuania in order to purchase property," remarked another expat who made the move to Lithuania.
