What is the weather like in Tajikistan?

"The climate in Tajikistan is generally dry and continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The mountainous terrain of the country means that temperatures can vary significantly depending on altitude. In the lowlands, temperatures can reach up to 40°C in the summer, while in the mountains, temperatures can drop to -20°C in the winter. Rainfall is generally low, with most of the precipitation occurring in the winter months," explained one expat living in Tajikistan.
