"The cost of living in New Mexico is considerably lower than many parts of the country. Rent for a decent one bedroom apartment in New Mexico is typically in the range of $600 to $800 a month. Rent for a nice two bedroom apartment is around $800 to $1000 a month. Eating dinner at a moderately priced restaurant will cost around $15 per person," said another expat in New Mexico.
