"The cost of living in Martinique is generally considered to be quite high compared to other Caribbean islands. The capital city of Fort-de-France is the most expensive place to live in the country, with prices for goods and services being higher than in other parts of the country. The rental price for a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Martinique is around $800 USD per month, while a nice 2 bedroom apartment can cost up to $1,200 USD per month. Eating dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Martinique can cost around $20 USD per person," remarked another expat in Martinique.
"The cost of living is always two to three times the basic amount. It's like living in New York, California, or London. The cost of living seems very high," said a member in Schoelcher, Martinique.
