I am a Canadian with a good understanding of Spanish ( intermediate level : reading a newspaper, classified, etc).

I plan to spend 5 months in Santiago ( NOT Santo Domingo).

How should I go about renting a Small Apt ( one bedroom) with basic appliances ( fridge, microwave) ?

Preferably located close to a major mall or grocery store.

How many dollars or Dominican pesos per month ?
