Move to DR but live as Canadian

Hello we were in DR in May , pcana , loved it ... miss it .. thought of mvng there for a yr or so... is it easy ? just live there as canadian citizen ? what type of visa we need ? can 2 ppl survive on $500/mth ? how much rent for one bdrm ? what abt those colorful chalets on beach ? any advice ? we want change , want to be adventrous ? my hsband in warehouse field, is it true expats have factories hiring english spkg people ? advice ? tks mimi
