Looking for summer job in the DR

Hi all! I am changing life up a bit and wanting to do a short term move to the DR for about 4-6 months. Ideally, I'd like to work at a resort as a massage therapist during that time. I've made calls to the resorts in Samana and emailed them my resume. They currently are not hiring. :-/

Another idea--A friend suggested I teach English classes to the locals, which would be fun for me.

Does anyone have inside information about how an American can get hired at a spa? I know people in Samana so that would be my first choice of location, but I'd also go to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata.

Does anyone know what the DR requires to teach English classes? I have a bachelor degree... I was thinking I could just hang some flyers around town--can it possibly be that simple?? How much would be a good price to charge for a 6 week course?

Any other ideas for me? I'm open to new ideas--any way I can use to get down there!
