Interview this week!

Hello,

My family and I are considering a move to DR. My final interview over Skype is scheduled this week. My husband is a perm resident here from DR and I am an American born Dominican. I am fluent in Spanish. We would be moving to Jarabacoa-that is where both are families are-so we have a large support system. My employment would be for an American based company in Jarabacoa as well. I have one school aged child.

Though the prospect of moving to DR permanently is very appealing, I am being realistic about living there full time. I have been to DR about 7 times in the last two years. The longest time was for a month. My daughter has traveled to DR as well.

I know I have the option to return to the States if things do not work out but I am nervous about starting over again from nothing. I am taking a good amount of cash. I have no home or credit cards to liquidate.

I guess my question is....How many of you have gone, having high expectations of things working out, only to have it go south and have to return? Did you have to start from scratch again? Was it difficult?

I appreciate any advice....

Thanks!
