Seeking Advice about life in DR

I've been living in the Philippines for going on 5 years now and its time to leave and try something new, so I'm giving a close look to the DR.

I build boats for fun, sometimes I do some commercial fishing (usually hire locals for that) and I have an Ag background, so I like being in the countryside. Please do tell me about the DR , where I should look, not look, do, not do, etc.
