DR yes , but WHERE?

Hi everybody! We are Italians and we live in Thailand.... we want relocate in DR , we are looking in Internet many forum , news , etcc.. related to this matter. The problem is (and I know that the opinion is subjective) which is the right place ? We honestly looking for a place where is quite safety ( in these years nobody
can be safe) , not party place and good life quality. Thanks all. Ciao
