Healthcare question

We are visiting a resort in Punta Cana in late October. My gf and I live in the US now, but she has lousy health insurance. She is having a problem with her thumb and would like to get a cortisone shot. I wondered if maybe she could get it there while we are there, and maybe save some money. Any thoughts or recommendations?
