Good Evening Expat Friends...
I realize that I have been " wordy" today and posted several things....it is one of those days...my apologies if it is to much information (TMI).
Alas, I shall pontificate a wee bit more.
The complex where I live is always up to something (the owner is a very active Haitian business woman). Tonight, there was trials for runway models (about 15 very lovely young women) that shall participate in an upcoming three day orchid festival sponsored by my landlady.
A Haitian lady friend, and myself, were having conversation and a cocktail by the pool, while these beautiful young ladies were being coached in runway " swagger" and much hip swinging.....
It was very nice to watch, while we chatted about Haiti in general.
I have enjoyed a few cocktails commonly called White Russians in the USA...here, they have been re-named by a Haitian friend as Blanc Haitians....same drink....a bit of russian vodka, a bit of Mexican Kahlua, a bit of Milk....on ice......a wee bit more vodaka.....a wee bit more Kahlua....wee a bit...then refill the drink glass....
A nice comfortable evening in Petion-ville, tempeture in the high 70's, slight breeze, CNN Anderson Cooper is on the Mexican/USA border (tv running in background).
Pardon me....time for another Blanc Haitian
