Travel through Haiti

I'm hoping to travel through the country, North to South, via tap-taps and local buses. I'm fluent in french and experienced in third world travel, so this concept thrills me.

I'd love any thoughts on places to see--particularly smaller communities outside the larger cities--place to stay, and connections to make along the way.

I know it's foolish to expect to make it through the country without transport issues and significant time delays (that's part of the adventure!)--but I'm hoping you can give me an estimate on travel time? Major hubs in between, cheap guest houses or friends I should strive to become a guest of?

Any advice or insider tips would be deeply valued! --and if by some small chance our world's align, I'm looking forward to meeting you in November!

Thank you
