EEA Residence Card for the UK

Hi all

My wife is an Algerian citizen whose passport recently expired. She lives with me in the UK. She is now getting her new biometric passport.

The problem we're facing now is that the British put her UK residence Card (EEA2) in her old, expired passport. We've read that people can travel from the UK using both old and new passports. That might work going to different countries outside the EU but not necessarily Algeria. Does anyone reading this know what an Algerian can do to make sure the Algerian authorities don't give her any trouble over this.
