Hey I was wondering if I could get some advice from you guys… I am thinking of moving to Argentina for a couple of months. Basically im a PhD student in my last year living in London and I really want to get away from the city for a bit while im working on and writing up my thesis and thinking of the Argentina for this. I can speak Spanish but I'm not fluent...yet!
Obviously Argentina is a massive country, it would be good if anyone could give me any suggestions on where is good (and warm!) to visit for a couple of months (i plan to arrive march/april). Although I want to focus on writing up my thesis, I dont want to go anywhere too quiet. I like to go out in the evenings. I like to dance salsa, do people dance salsa a lot in Argentina or is it mainly tango?
I was wondering how safe it is for a 25 year old woman to travel there on her own without knowing anyone? I am the type of person that likes to stay away from tourist areas when I go to another country and like to mix more with locals.
Also can anyone give me advice on what are the best universities for sciences? I want to see if I can have some sort of arrangement as a visiting student.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
