Transferring money from the UK

Hi there

my argentinian wife and I have recently moved to Oncativo near Cordoba and I am looking for a quick and cheap way to transfer money from the UK to a bank account here.
We have opened an account at the Banco de la nation but they say that a "swift" payment to them has to go through New York and Villa Maria and also be in US dollars. Also that it 2ill take at least 10 days !!!
Does anybody know of a better way/bank ?
