San Rafael progress

Just a quick note on San Rafael.

Arrived back in San Rafael on the 3rd of this month for a one month stay and the weather has turned out to be wonderful. Our vineyard is looking the best it has in ten years and we look forward to a good harvest. Reservoir water is only at 80% so we may have another dry year for irrigation. Thinking about drip irrigation again.

Prices have really climbed since April and there is another hike in gasoline and propane coming soon we hear. A descent bottle of wine is now over 100 pesos and you have to pay 200 to 300 for a really prime one. Filet has gone up to 175 pesos per kilo, still a bargain compared to the states. We now have 200 and 500 peso notes which cuts down and the stack of money you must carry and the exchange rate is now at 17.5 pesos/US dollar.

Building is booming with new houses going up everywhere and the streets are being repaved in many areas. Looking good!
