Hola a todos, jaja. I am an American veteran with disability income, looking for a place where I can purchase some hectares out in the country, to work by internet. I am thinking about something similar to San Carlos de Bariloche, except maybe a half hour or so outside of a city like that.
About me, I have lived around Latin America for maybe 5-6 years. My Spanish is ok. I have lived in Panama, and Chile, and am presently in Colombia. I would go back to Chile, except that now Chile wants a vaccine for entry, and I cannot do a vaccine. I had life-threatening vaccine reactions in the army, and was hospitalized, so I really cannot do a vax. Only, I just read today that they are planning to drop the requirement for the vaccines in Argentina in the next few days, so I thought I might ask and see how things are.
It was kind of an eye-opener to come to Colombia and realize that there are places in the countryside you just don't want to live, unless you want to pay taxes to a guerrilla organization. And I guess the cartel situation in Mexico is pretty bad, and they say it is spreading through most of Central America, which makes living in the countryside dangerous.
I was trying to read up on Argentina, and I saw that there was something to do with cartels in the Santa Fe area. Is that confined to the Santa Fe area? Or is there any kind of activity in the San Carlos de Bariloche area that would make it difficult or dangeous to live on some hecatares out in the countryside, with just regular home security?
Muchas gracias a todos for your advice.
