Please Help! - Paying Duty at Customs on household items shipped in

I am moving from Nevada to Paradise Island with my family (husband, 4 year old, and baby). My husband got a 2 year job out there and they have given him 5k towards moving expenses. I'm having anxiety not knowing what or how much to bring in. I do not want to go over our 5k because we got hit hard on duty at customs.

First, can somebody please recommend a good moving/shipping company from the USA.

Second, we plan to only bring out clothing (mainly with us via airplane), all my 4 year old's toys, and all our baby items such as crib, playpin, changing table, bath, swing, etc. I read that we won't have to pay duty on all our baby items such as crib, baby bottles, and diapers. Is that true? Regarding my 4 year old's toys, I understand I have to make a list of every item packed in their value. All our stuff is used. Do I have to list every single doll, car, game, etc? Also, read that I don't have to pay duty on books. Is that true?

How serious are they at customs? Are they going to go through all my personal belongings? What about the value I put on each item. I plan to put low values since everything is used, including all our baby stuff.

Can somebody please tell me about their experience at customs, how much you paid on duty for things you brought in, and any advice on what else I should bring. Kitchenware? Linens? Etc....

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
